Paddy is an app where users can track their menstrual cycle and pads usage. During development, we realized that hygiene products are not accessible to everyone, especially those in rural areas. They often have to travel long distances and buy the products in bulk. Low awareness level to personal hygiene is also an issue we want to highlight. Paddy's features include: Cycle tracking, Pad usage tracking, an FAQ section, and Notifications. With those features, users can know have a prediction of when they next cycle might occur and how many pads they might need, so they can plan ahead. As the taboo is still considered taboo, the FAQ section was a way to educate users about the importance of personal hygiene and menstrual health. Notifications were implemented using subtle language to remind users about their cycle and pads usage. In this project I worked on the front-end development including notifications, widgets, the FAQ section as well as localizing the contents. Working on Paddy taught me how to define problems and make solutions accordingly, and that technology without empathy is not useful.
